5/20/20 - Teams are complete and are waiting on the okay for use of city fields. As soon as we have the okay to use city fields you should be hearing from your coaches. We apologize for the delay...we are doing our best to move forward quickly. Please be patient ...we are just as excited as you are to get on the fields!

5/16/2020 Teams are being coordinating and we are working with the city for field use. If you haven't already you'll be should be hearing from your coaches or commissioners soon!

5/5/2020 Letter from the president to all active registrants.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work towards organizing Sandpoint Little League’s 2020 season. Just like the entire world, we are waiting for further direction from various larger entities to guide our decision. On Monday, May 11, SLL will  receive conditional approval from Little League International (LLI), the City of Sandpoint, and Governor Little in the State of Idaho. Please understand that each of these entities has established a criteria that Sandpoint Little League must meet and guidelines that we must follow in order to offer a modified baseball and softball program to our area youth. (Rather than enumerating it all in this letter, please refer to the following: Stages of Reopening Idaho, Idaho Rebounds: Stage 1 Protocols for Youth Activities, Little League International website.) We hope that the following will help you to understand the  challenges as we plan a season.
It will be very important that Sandpoint Little League can rely on players, families, coaches, umpires, and volunteers to make this both a healthy and successful season for all. While Sandpoint Little League is working to provide a productive season, please understand that we still operate under the jurisdiction of LLI, the City of Sandpoint, or the State of Idaho. Should any of these entities revoke their permission to operate, the remainder of our season will be cancelled.

Refund policy: If you wish to withdraw your participation in the 2020 Sandpoint Little League season, we completely understand. By no later than Friday, May 8*, please send your request to [email protected]sandpointlittleleague.com with your name, your player’s name (or players’ names), and the statement that you wish to cancel registration. Your refund will be processed as soon as possible, but please understand that this may take a few weeks after you submit your request *If we do not receive a refund request from you, we are assuming your player or players will be participating in this year's season. Refunds will not be issued for future season cancelation by the city, governor, LLI, or if you decide not to participate after Friday, May 8. Please make the best decision for your player and family.

SLL plan for opening practices and games: We are quickly developing a plan to begin practices and games that abide by the conditions set forth by Little League International, the City of Sandpoint, and the State of Idaho. These include but are not limited to adhering to current health protocol. Before we may begin any league activity with our youth, a plan of operation must be approved by Little League District 1 and practices may begin no sooner than May 11. Upon approval, we are hoping to begin as close to that date as possible. Understand that our game schedule is yet to be determined and some divisions may proceed directly to games; as soon as our commissioners develop a schedule, families will be informed.  We anticipate that the 2020 season will run through late June.  Because competitions involve spectators, everyone at the field will need to follow recommended health protocols as well.

Again, we thank you for your cooperation as we negotiate these unprecedented times and this unusual situation. Ultimately, our goal is to provide a healthy and productive season for our community’s youth and we look forward to that moment when we can see the kids play ball!

5/1/2020 We are actively seeking approval from Little League District coordinators to proceed with a modified season of baseball.  If you have registered for the 2020 Season please make sure to respond to the survey sent out about this years season.  Information regarding the timeline and protocols for this years season will be sent out the week of 5/4/2020.

3/17/2020Many of you are aware of limitations and recommendations around group activities happening in our neighboring communities.  Little League International has recommended that all league activities be placed on hold until May 11th. For further detail, please see https://www.littleleague.org/player-safety/coronavirus-update/ . As we prepare for this season, and do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we will be updating the website and social media with any new updates from Little League International.

NO Refunds will be processed until the beginning of May - if the season is canceled or you choose not to participate in the season, we will issue refunds.

Sandpoint Little League is currently planning and coordinating our season remotely. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide up to date information from Little League International on our website and social media as it becomes available. Rest assured, that we have the best interest of our players and community at heart.
